The Racing Stripe Concept
Also called “Le Mans” and “rally” stripes, vehicle racing stripes have moved beyond the racetrack, where they were originally used to help spectators identify the fast-moving cars zooming by. The great thing is, when it comes to racing stripes, options are virtually endless, limited only by the imagination. Chances are, if you can envision it, we can design it. Examples might include:
- Traditional center stripes, sometimes called “go faster stripes,” which run down the center of the vehicle, front to back.
- These can be made from two perpendicular runs or one large run, with a center (or more) stripe(s) in a different color running down the middle.
- Side stripes, which often run vertical, sometimes slightly slanted, down the back quarter of the vehicle.
- Also referred to as “bumblebee stripes,” these were made popular by the Dodge Charger Daytona.
- Side stripes can tie into a spoiler as well, for a more dramatic effect.
In addition to the wide range of colors, designs and textures available, we can customize stripes in matte, satin and metallic finishes. Custom material can also be added to other areas of the vehicle, including the rocker panels, grill, spoiler, etc.
